The Last Hamster

IMG_1054
IMG_1065

I had my first hamsters in the winter of 2007 and since then I started to collect cages and toys for my hamsters. I still remember the first time my hamster had babies and I kept them in the closet so our Ayi couldn’t find them. It has been a long time and they kept me company during my hardest time. I know it’s kind of ridiculous to be emotional for a guy like me but when it is getting to the point where I have to goodbye to them, I do feel reluctant to let go of them. They are just too cute. There were moments when I felt I had too many hamsters but never did I think it’s boring or nonsense to feed them and watch them grow. It’s not going to be forever and I knew it since the beginning but it’s been the time that I can cherish whenever I recall it. I gave my hamsters to my classmates and my friends who I can trust enough, so that my hamsters can enjoy the rest of their lives without worrying about being sold or being eaten by cats. Now it looks as if the only thing waiting ahead is my departure on Sunday, and surviving the agony of separation might quite well be the lesson I have to learn very soon.

My Hamster Show

These little creatures are funny and cute, and I still think this way. I am not tired of keeping all of them. They will be missed so much if one day they are all gone. But now, let's enjoy the moment with them.

Hamster Show No.XX

Though she doesn't have a name, she had 7 cute babies on November 1st. I left 2 cute little ones for her, and have given out the rest to other hamster lovers. There is no doubt that those little hamsters have brought me a lot of fun in the room since last year. Even though sometimes, I did wish to do some weird experiments on them, I never did. Guess I am just too busy to think about that. Feeding them every day is enough work for me already.

This is the whole family she was having in the beginning of November. 30 days later, when those little hamsters stopped having milk, they can live by themselves. And it was the time to say goodbye to some of them.

Hamster Population Shrinks

Some were given away, and some were still kept in the cages. Right now, for the first time since I moved to this new apartment, my hamster population shrinks to 4, which I think is a perfect number for me to keep, even though one of the hamsters had 8 babies on the first day of the National Day-7 hamsters, to be exact-one was eaten by its mom, I suppose. So the new schedule for hamster adoption should launch soon, since those little creatures grow so fast. The curiosity and excitement I used to have are all gone as time goes by, yet I don't feel it's a burden for me to carry every day. Still, these hamsters can help me kill some of the boring time I might endure, and that's a blessing. The National Day holiday is finally over, and it passed so fast. I gave up my plan of going home a few days before the holiday, and I can imagine how exhausted I might have been if I took the plane home and back here. Mom called me several times during the holiday, and I am glad she's cool with it and that everything's good back home. I still have several annual leave days left, and I might choose one of the days when traffic is not crowded to get back.

A new start...

5 Babies

I thought she just got fat because I always feed her on her favorite food, but I didn't really care that much since I got another fatter girl who just eats and sleeps. It was raining yesterday and I got back quite late. Actually it was my first time to work after 6pm, and I was really surprised to find that my little fat hamster had 5 little cute hamsters already. What a nice surprise! They are quite tiny without any hair, and their eyes are not open. All I can do right now is guarantee the mother has enough food, so that she won't eat her babies.

One Bite Doesn't Hurt

I was trying to show one of my strongest hamsters to my colleagues, and never did I think he bit me on my index finger so hard that I bled all over the floor. The fat hamster didn't let go until I threw him on the ground. That was the hardest bite I ever had by an animal in my entire life. I suddenly ran to the bathroom to clean my wound. I was a little bit worried about the bite, since there might be something wrong with his teeth, like germs and viruses. Later, I looked up the information about hamsters bites, and all I got was it would be ok if I just washed the wound. Well, I just did, so that means I will be ok? Another interesting thing is it's said if someone is bitten by the hamster to bleed, then the person will get some lucky money afterwards. So I completely calmed down after I cleaned my finger, sitting on the chair observing those little bastards. Right before I wanted to go to bed, one of my classmates showed up, and he handed me two hundred and forty RMB, saying it's from the publisher who I mailed my papers to. Wow, it was such a long time ago that I don't even remember, and now after the bite I got the money. Interesting! The superstition is true. So whenever you need any money, just let the hamsters bite you real hard, and you will get the money out of it.

Sally and Jacky's Crystal Palace

I once noticed this beautiful round crystal palace online, and then I decided to get one for my Sally and Jacky. Prupru said if I love it, then get it. So today, I finally went to get one. The thing is, I didn't know how big it is until I saw it in person. Jesus!! It's like a huge space shuttle for a hamster! When putting it on the desk in my dorm, and whenever I look at it, I couldn't help laughing--Man! it's just funny to have this weird thing there. It's definitely cuter when it's 100% smaller. But hey, I paid for what I got. This thing ain't cheap! It's called a palace! lol...

Another thing is, you see, Sally is getting fatter and fatter each day, and my poor Jacky couldn't find any possible chance to get close to her, let alone some other things he might intend to do. So I put my Jacky in this palace, and my goal is to get him fat...well, stronger, to be specific. So hopefully, after several weeks, he can gain some weight and get what he wants.

Mice Year Say Mice

It's going to be Mice Year soon, and time is always flying faster than we could imagine. It was very coincidental that I got two cute hamsters last November. Right now, they are growing fast and healthily, though the female is growing bigger, which makes the male silly hamster harder to XXX...lol...I always laugh at him when he gets pushed off from his girlfriend on his back with his feet in the air when he tries to do something with his dragon lady. That is so hilarious. Here are some cute pictures I took like several days ago...

When I meet Jackie and Sally

Sally asks Jackie:" Would you like to have fun for the rest of your life or you want to be with me for the rest of your life?"

Jackie thinks for a moment, then says:"Why don't we have fun together for the rest of our lives?"

Then Sally runs into Jackie's arms...

That's how I meet them, and decide to nurture them for the rest of their lives.

OMG!!! My little cat caught a mouse!!!!

Because my sister has gone to school, so her baby cat ' Yoyo' came to my home for a while. He is a naughty cat, the naughtiest cat I have ever seen. Sometimes he made me scream because he can make my entire room a total mess which I couldn't make~say that I am jealous or whatsoever, there is still one thing that I could never do---catch a mouse!!

I always think that my house is pretty clean and nice, though seldom I found a little bit dirt on the floor. Anyway I could never think of that there are mice in my house until late today when I was packing my bags and I saw Yoyo playing with his trophy--a real mouse!! I was shocked at first~~then I was wondering if he was really hungry that he can't bear to eat a mouse? He was playing with it, throwing it and catching it again and again with his mouth and claws, never to eat it...Definitely, that mouse was dead~poor guy~and I finally threw that mouse into the trash can...I didn't know that Yoyo could do this again after like 1 hour. He caught another mouse and played with that little poor mouse until it was dead...I threw that dead mouse away again~God knows if he can catch the third one...I hope he could, because cat does catch mice. It's just because that ,unfortunately, there are mice at my house~~

Here's Yoyo's trophy:

My buddy turtle.

Alright, after I have tried so hard to put my tons of books back to my little tiny shelf, I decided to take some pix of my buddy turtle. He's kinda camera shy. When I put him on the table, he just stayed here still...quite shy, and staring at me and my DC curiously, wondering what's behind that 'single huge eye'...well...dude, it's all my friends...LOL...relax...here we go.
I'd like u to meet my friends.:P
