My New Watch

I have bought this Citizen watch for some time, because I thought it could bring me luck. But unfortunately, I was being superstitious, and this idea made me quite dependant and dumb.  So my lesson were learned and all I need to say is you are the only one whom you can depend on eventually.

It was quite dramatic yesterday, because we had the craziest shower this summer in Shanghai . The wind was so strong that people could barely walk. But it came fast and went away faster, leaving pools and ponds on the road everywhere after I had my second golf game and dinner. It was cool to play golf, although I heard golf players average IQ is the lowest in all the sports games players, with football players the highest IQ. How ironic is that! It must be a joke. It’s like a big slap on the face, thanks to our professional National male football players.

The dinner was nice and we had good conversations on the table. I am glad that I joined the team building with other team members in the last minute . Sometimes there would be really a surprise if you do something different. As long as I still feel young, I would be willing to be surprised and entertained.

Got McDonalds Toys?

I know it's not healthy to have McDonalds often, but it's undeniably convenient to make a phone call and your food is just outside your door. Also another reason why I order McDonalds instead of others is because I can get little toys. Although I don't really know what I am going to do with these toys, I think it's fun to be surprised sometimes. I am sure when I have a clean kitchen to cook, I won't order junk food any more. But so far, so much fun.

D10 Power Shot In French Concession

Since I am not happy about the result on 25th, I decided to do something about it. First I went shopping by myself on Saturday to buy the shoes I always wanted and some other spontaneous gadgets I encountered. Then I bought Canon D10 Power Shot on Sunday, and I walked through French Concession to take pictures. Although it was very hot and humid on Sunday, I thought it was great to walk a little bit and I feel good now. I am happy about my decisions and things have sunk in gradually in the end.

The reason why I wanted a D10 was because first it looks cute; second it’s 10 meters water proof, which means I can take pictures when I swim in the water! I know it sounds lame, but it’s definitely something new to me.

Freeze! Pose!

So I took my D10, along with a new Canon bag(:D), to see old houses in French Concession again. The minute I walked out of the mall, I realized I made a mistake, because it was so hot that it was suffocating me. I did not walk through this whole area literally, but somehow I took several pictures.

So I am pretty much satisfied with this new camera except that the lens just has a transparent glass cover to protect its vulnerability, and it requires cleaning frequently. But thanks to its rugged design, I can wash it with water.

So I Sold It

760RMB for Moto A810, and I sold it. Considering electronics products prices drop quite fast, I did not wait another week or so to sell the cellphone I bought one month ago. The student can definitely bargain, and in the end, it seemed I was the one who wanted to sell it desperately. The price I bought was 1200RMB without the 2G card, so it's almost 40% off the price I paid. I wanted to sell for 900RMB, and yet he did not compromise at all. I knew he wanted to buy the cellphone, and he knew I wanted to sell it. I gave in finally. The way I see it is I am flexible, not stubborn, and probably after new year, it would be difficult to sell it on a better price. Anyway, now I can use the money to buy the ticket to Beijing for Christmas, even though I said I would have given this cellphone to my mom. Since I still have Nokia 5610XM, she might as well use that one which is better than any of the mobile phones I have bought lately. I don't feel bad at all, not quite excited either, though.

I paid my price to make myself feel that I am still having my sanity.

My Mobile Phone Mania

There are lots of things going on lately, and yet I just don't have the motive to write anything down here. It's interesting that when there is nothing big happening, I have the tendency to even write things as trivial as flushing the toilet after using it. Anyway, it's just I don't know where to start here at this time. My general feeling is spending money is so much easier than earning money. After I bought the third mobile phone in a row in 20 days, I begin to wonder if I need to see a doctor. I NEED EVERTYTHING TO BE PERFECT! Apparently, none of the mobile phones are perfect in terms of my criteria. It's tough. You see, if I did not make any money, I would not have been so picky, nor would I have spent so much useless time on pondering which mobile phone I needed. It's ridiculous! After I lost my Nokia 5300, I thought I just needed one simple cellphone which can make sure I am existing on the earth, and has a dictionary also. Blame Moto A810! That mobile phone is totally not worth 1300RMB, whose system is slow and poor and it took forever to type a message. So I started this maniac mobile phone purchasing journey when I made my mind I should buy another one. So here I am, with three mobile phones on my hands. Mom is speechless on this too.

It's almost the end of 2008, and there will be lots of spending based on my gauge. I should start saving in case the real winter comes, period.

Ridiculous Suning

Here is the thing: I bought Nokia 5320XM at Suning, one of the biggest home appliances retailer tycoons here in China, on Wednesday night, yet I found more than 5 bad dots on the screen that night after I went back home. So yesterday I went to Suning to swap it for another one. I was talking too much, I guess, so after 2 hours in the shop, I decided to go to People's Square, where the Nokia service center is located, to require the phone check proof, which was "required" by Suning. I spent 2 hours on the road. I thought after this things would have been done like quite fast. Once again, I was wrong. It was claimed that there were several procedures, and the worst thing was they don't have Nokia 5320 in the inventory. They looked for other Suning chain stores, and the result was the same. Yup, apparently, I won't be able to have my Nokia 5320 eventually. It SUCKS. So I paid 350 RMB for Nokia 5610XM at 8:30pm. Remember, I got there at 4:30pm-4 hours spent in the store, and I did not even get what I wanted. Whatever reason, time was wasted. I don't really know if the result would have been different if I was not angry when I first got there. Or the joke was on me-they just don't have another Nokia 5320 there, so whether they change it without the proof from Nokia or not, I won't be able to have another same new phone anyway. "Blame the financial crisis, which obviously takes a toll on Suning." Said one of the saleswomen. My point is, I don't need your alibi, Suning. I just want my thing to be done. That simple. So after a whole day on this, I finally took the Nokia 5610 back home, quite exhausted. I even told the manager that I had to take a half day leave...sigh...

Quite excited about this one on Wednesday...

4 Days With Moto A810

Literally, the input virtual keyboard is the pain in the ass every time I text! The keys are so tiny that I always make typos.

3093 inside
What am I going to do with this phone? I am not using the pen which I think it's just lame, yet my finger tips are too big for the keyboard. I have to look at the keyboard as carefully as possible when I try to send an SMS. I miss my Nokia 5300, with which I could type whichever way I like, even blind type. Maybe I could get used to this new phone, at least I hope so. With the required functions, you should know I did not have much of a choice when I was buying it. So hopefully I will change, obviously not this phone, so that I will enjoy texting messages as much as I did before. One good thing about this phone is that the music sound quality is awesome. It's like I am playing my iPod, though the camera cannot be turned to a mute mode, which means I don't really stand a chance of taking pictures secretly. :(

Anyway, except the fact I lost my Nokia 5300, which sucks by the by, I pretty much can embrace the full joyful moment my new phone brings to me. After all, things are changing, and so are we.

Free 2G U-Disk

Haha, eventually I found my 1G u-disk, I knew I would never lose anything from my hands. The good news is I got another 2G u-disk for free...That's nice...I should keep a low key though...Nice~

Haven't exercised for some time, and last weekend I skipped lunch to play badminton for one hour without stopping, then swam for 2 hours and played table tennis for one hour after dinner. I was amazed that I still had energy when leaving the court, and I was thinking maybe I should do these things like every day. However, the night I suffered a lot during sleeping-my arms were like broken and I couldn't feel my legs and my waist. I guess it was a little bit too much for one time excise, especially I did not stretch in the beginning. I recovered today after 2 days resting, and I think I would like to do more swimming in that nice warm swimming pool. It was awesome, and there were few people in the pool so that I could swim like a fish, and dive like a bomb...

Life is just a little bit too easy, and I kind of feel I am getting rotten gradually...:(

My Unlocked Cellphone

Because I don't have a phone in my apartment, I changed my cellphone package to "Free Answering Calls" so that my mom can call me whenever she wants. Of course, this has nothing to do with the embarrassing wrong dialing.  My colleagues saw me in the morning, and the first thing they said was "You are busted!" Yeah, I was surprised that they called me pretty late last night, and I did not answer it. The reason was because I "called" them three times before that-I did not lock my cellphone again! This is not the first time, and I still remember the first time I accidentally touched my cellphone buttons, and called one of my female colleagues several times in a row. That's very nice...*FLUSH*...This Nokia 5300 is fancy for its music playing feature, but considering its short battery life, it's just totally useless. And what's more, it makes me embarrassed twice! Currently, the only solution to this is remembering to lock the darn cellphone, since buying a new one is not the option I would like to think about.

Macbook Air Touch

Not a big fan of Apple products, but after using Nano 3-G for a while, I found Apple's products are interesting, just because it's stylish and different from conventional computer products. Now I got the chance to see how the Macbook Air feels.

On the sacrifice of performance Mediocre Performance
I took the M-A walking around a little bit in the office, and the first reaction I got most was 'WOW'. Indeed, the Macbook Air does look fabulous, but in order to be the thinnest notebook in the world, Macbook Air not only sacrifices its performance, but also its thermal comfort after continuous use for some time. Of course, if I need to buy such a beautiful vase, the only purpose I can see is to pretty much show off, nothing else.

iPod Nano 3rd Gen

My 120G hard drive has arrived, and I thought it would be ok to buy an iPod online as well. Then I thought twice, and decided to buy it in a store, since chances of getting a contraband or a fake one are still there online. Seeing is believing. Together with an iPod adaptor and a plastic protecting case, I got them all at one time. As I expected, the sound quality is not outstanding, and yet the little cute appearance of the nano is quite adorable.

Data Lost

Blame me for my carelessness, or I don't know what's wrong with my 60G portable hard disk which has my 30G music, 20G MVs and most importantly, 3G precious pictures that I have been keeping since the third year in university.  When I got up this morning as usual, I turned on the computer to listen to my music, and I found my hard disk was not working. I didn't take it seriously, because it happened yesterday, and it worked later on. I thought it was because of the damn hot weather, and when I turned off the computer last night, I didn't unplug the hard disk safely, because I always did that, and there was nothing wrong with it due to my previous experience. This time, I was wrong! My portable hard disk which has been used for my ftp for westernmusic board is officially down! I didn't realize how hard it will be for me until I habitually opened windows media to listen to my songs. Oops! I can't listen to them anymore, and I can't see my pictures any more---I can't reminisce any more!!! Then I started to panic.

Up till now, I don't know what I am going to do with the lost data, what a loss! Even though I went to Xujiahui to buy a new hard disk this afternoon when I the temperatre was like 40 Celsius degrees. I thought I would have felt better after I got the new bigger hard disk which means the hope for me, but when I got back I found that the data that was lost can never be made up. That's a shame!

Maybe it's too late to take good care of that old hard disk now, but it's not too late to take good care of the new one. While remembering to back up the data every so often, I should also unplug the hard disk safely every time I turn off the computer. I don't think I can afford another loss of the important data, because I feel the lost data has taken its toll on me now.

Anyways, to look at the bright side, this new bigger size hard disk (120G) means I can store much more information in it, and I can store much more new music too. The only thing I am worried about is if it's safe to use it as the ftp again, I should think twice before I do it. Maybe I should just use my computer hard disk as the upload ftp, which doesn't have enought space for massive pieces of music, and it can just hold some MVs or something. I dont' really know right now. After this loss, I feel extremely insecure about the portable hard disks, who knows when it will break down without giving you any omens, and in the end only you have to suffer the pain of losing the precious things.

Thank god, I have some back up music in the lab computer, and it's just about 10G. But it's better than none. Right now, I have to start from the beginning to cellect music and stuff...Way to go, Mr.~~
